I would like to be able to edit individual sections of a page. This can make it both easier and safer to edit part of a long page.
Going a bit further, I’d like to be able to restrict the editing of specified sections to particular (classes of) users. This may not be a general need, but it will be critical to Ontiki.
If you’re really after those kinds of controls than you’ll need to start with a user model first. I don’t think Instiki will ever have one, nor do I think it should.

Instiki’s big advantage over some other personal Wiki apps is that it’s exquisitely simple. Features like ‘editing by section’ and ‘classes of users’ detract from that simplicity. I would not welcome this.
